Turn Many to Righteousness – Weekly Devotional

Daniel 12:1-3

“At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book. 2And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

I often wonder if people truly consider how they appear before the Lord. I’m beginning to. Not only for a reward but for His will. In the times to come will you become a pillar of righteousness? Refraining from sin is one level of glory, to lead many to righteousness (Not only to salvation but to right standing with God) is another level of glory. Not glory to you, but glory to God, so I pray that you go from glory to Glory!

How then are you yielding to righteousness in your life?

What will your life’s testament be?

As you reflect on these questions, consider righteousness as not only obeying Christ and overcoming sin, but overcoming the World. For with the world comes its fleshly desires and deception, but in Christ, you can overcome as He overcame.

Secondly, consider your time. How meaningful is your time? And how do you submit your most valuable asset (time) to God? Whom or whatever you submit yourself to is the Lord of your life. For example, if you spend the majority of your time conceiving ideas or working to get money, then Christ is not your Lord, mammon is. Of course, we all work to make a living, but the difference is that even in your work you think and pray about the purpose of the resources God has given you, and you’re willing to part ways with it if it came to that to have Christ. Secondly, you remove the distractions in your life and find great joy in spending time with the Lord. Read the word of God and pray without ceasing. What greater gift there is than Christ? who gave it all, taking on all the evil and unrighteousness of man and bearing it all on the cross and rose again to fulfill the will of the Father that we may have everlasting life.

Lastly, look for opportunities for discipleship. Leading others to righteousness is to walk a walk of faith with others. Being discipled is important for spiritual growth. Pray to the Lord that He leads you to people whom you can disciple or be discipled by. Adopt Godly disciplines to practice and share with others. Be open to receiving the Word of God that may come from others, but also take what you hear to God in prayer.

In the time to come will you stand for righteousness?

Will you turn many to righteousness?

Prayer:

I pray Lord, that you will consider my work and my faith. Working in the field to receive a great harvest. I want to lead many to righteousness for your name’s sake. Only you can hold us in your right hand. Let Godliness be my portion, and deliverance my weapon against all darkness, evil, and unrighteousness, for your Glory. Take my life Lord, and use it as an instrument, to lead many to You the righteous one, that I may shine like the stars forever and ever, amen!

1 Corinthians 15: 35 – 58

“35 But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?” 36You foolish person! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37 And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare kernel, perhaps of wheat or of some other grain. 38 But God gives it a body as he has chosen, and to each kind of seed its own body. 39 For not all flesh is the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish. 40 There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is of one kind, and the glory of the earthly is of another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.

42 So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. 43 It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47 The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. 49 Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.

50 I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. 54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.”

55 “O death, where is your victory?

O death, where is your sting?”

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
