The Golden Rule: Hidden Godly Wisdom in a Children’s Book
Sometimes the most profound truths are found in the simplest places. Recently, I attended an event with Moca Moms at our local library in Richmond, Virginia. The event was all about older kids reading to younger ones—a beautiful picture of encouragement and community.
As I watched the older children share their gifts, I was struck by how this moment perfectly reflected the heart of the Golden Rule: “Do to others what you would have them do to you” (Matthew 7:12). Just as Christ humbled Himself and gave of Himself, we are called to live with that same selflessness in every situation.
What seems like a simple interaction between kids became, for me, a divine reminder. God often speaks in these ordinary moments, revealing His extraordinary truth.
The Golden Rule isn’t just a moral lesson; it’s a reflection of Jesus Himself. To live it out is to embody the humility, love, and generosity of Christ. And when we choose to walk in His ways, we encourage others to do the same.
So, let’s not overlook the wisdom God places in everyday moments—even in children’s books and story times. In the simple act of giving, we reflect Christ to the world.
